Compact Direct Mercury Analyzer

Compact Direct Mercury Analyzer

The DMA-1 mercury determination system does not require any sample preparation or other wet chemistry before the analysis. This means ease of use, low running cost and no more necessity to purchase, handle and dispose hazardous chemicals.

  • User friendly software
  • AutoBLANK feature
  • FDA regulations 21 CFR Part 11 Compliant
  • LIMS integration

The DMA-1 produces matrix-independent results. The instrument is calibrated using aqueous standards and then analyzes organic and inorganic solid samples. Just one method is used to analyze a variety of different matrices making the DMA-1 extremely easy to use.

The DMA-1 does not virtually suffer from any memory effect. The instrument software features the ‘Autoblank’ function, by which the user preset a satisfactory blank level. If that level is exceeded the instrument automatically runs blank cycles until the expected level is reached. This is important when analyzing a series of unknown samples.

The DMA-1 provides reproducible results over a broad range of samples, such as polymers, food and feed, and oils, for instance.
The instrument calibration lasts for months of operation, and the results are stable over time.

Up to 1,5 grams of solid or 1,5 mL of liquids can be analyzed. This is particularly important for the analysis of heterogeneous materials or for samples with a very low mercury concentration.

Best analytical performance

The DMA-1 has a detection limit of 0,003 nanograms of mercury and can measure up to 1.500 nanograms of mercury, which is comparable to a concentration of 15 mg/kg (15 ppm) in a 100 mg sample.

Easy-to-Use Technology

The DMA-1 is controlled by a Windows-based computer or a compact control terminal with an easy-to-read, vivid, full-color touch screen display. Multiple USB and RS-232 connectors are available on the terminal allowing direct printing of methods and runs, as well as connecting the instrument to an external balance.
The terminal runs Milestone’s proprietary EasyCONTROL software, which provides simple and intuitive control over the analytical process while also being incredibly flexible and powerful. All sample parameters are saved, such as furnace temperatures, technique profiles, absorbance signals, results, and calibrations.

Temperature control with easyTEMP

The easyTEMP contactless sensor immediately regulates the temperature of all samples and solutions, delivering precise temperature feedback and ensuring complete digestion in all vessels while maintaining outstanding safety. This technique combines the versatility of an infrared sensor with the speed and accuracy of an in-situ temperature sensor.

For each sample, the ETHOS UP programme gives digestion history traceability and temperature measurement. Temperature graphs and profiles can be kept on the ETHOS UP terminal and are displayed in real time.
These sensors, when used in conjunction with our’vent-and-reseal’ vessel technology, provide full and safe digestions with no loss of volatile substances.
