Introduction
The STA8122/HUM is a device that can perform TG-DTA measurements in a water vapour atmosphere with a constant relative humidity. TG-DTA measurements are performed in STA8122/HUM under a constant water vapour partial pressure. This instrument can offer a comprehensive understanding of a sample’s thermal behaviour in relation to various water vapour partial pressures, making it useful for applications such as polymer hydrolysis, hydrate thermal behaviour in medicines, and ceramic debinding.
The absorption ratio in relation to relative humidity is measured using TG-DTA measurements held at a fixed temperature while altering the relative humidity, which is beneficial for evaluating the sample’s water absorption property.
The humidity generator (HUM-1) creates a water vapour containing a humidity controlled gas to be delivered to the TG-DTA using N2 as a base gas.
